You know when you meet someone and you just instantly click? That’s exactly what happened with Brianna and me. Except that HOW we met is actually pretty funny. And it all lead to a beautiful spring wedding at The Gardenia Venue.
One day I was scrolling on Facebook and stumbled across a Texas wedding photographer page where someone had asked how soon you should book your wedding photographer. There were so many answers that varied by length of time recommended, but one comment in particular had me rolling. Another wedding photographer had said you should book your photographer around 3-6 months before your wedding day. And Brianna replied to his comment and asked if that was normal because everyone else swore you needed to book around a year out. He stood by his comment and said 3 months is plenty of time to find a wedding photographer and book them for your wedding.
I read this and immediately messaged Brianna and let her know this was far from the truth! As a wedding photographer who books out 18 months – 2 years in advance, waiting until 3 months out from your wedding to book your wedding photographer will likely result in lower quality professionals, because the skilled and experienced wedding photographers will all be booked up. She agreed and we started chatting about HER wedding photography needs.
She told me she was getting married in Dallas Fort Worth at the Gardenia Venue. I looked up the venue since I am not overly familiar with DFW wedding venues, but once I saw the Gardenia Venue I fell in love with the modern design and white interior. There’s also sooooo many windows with natural light at the Gardenia Venue which is AMAZING, and every wedding photographers dream.
Brianna and I discussed her wedding photography budget and what her vision was for her big day, and we just chatted about all the fun wedding ideas she had, as if we had been friends forever! She booked me on the spot and we got to planning her bridal session at the Gardenia Venue as well as her wedding day coverage. Because I’m a wedding photographer based in San Antonio, I had to decide if I wanted to drive the 8 hours round trip, or if I wanted to spend the money to fly on a plane. I ended up finding super cheap flights from San Antonio to DFW so I was able to fly to Dallas for both Brianna’s Bridals as well as her wedding.
We had such a blast shooting her Bridal portraits at the Gardenia Venue. She is seriously STUNNING. I was so excited that I edited all of the images from my computer at the DFW airport while I waited for my flight back home. Here are some of my favorites from our bridal portrait session.
About 1 month after Brianna’s bridal portraits it was WEDDING DAY! I woke up early to catch my flight and got to the Gardenia Venue with plenty of time to spare. With all that extra time came lots of extra creative liberty 🙂 I was able to spend a solid chunk of time on wedding details and flat lays.
Brianna and Daniel tied the knot in the beautiful chapel at the Gardenia Venue surrounded by family and friends and ended the night with a poppin’ party!
Thinking about getting married at The Gardenia Venue in the next year? I would love to chat with you about capturing your special day!
